Women’s Health Services
Methow Midwifery & Women’s Health believes in empowering women by listening to their story, and giving them information and options to make their own health care decisions. Excellent health care is best fostered in an atmosphere of a trusting relationship, and where women work collaboratively with their caregivers.
Blue has experience caring for women of all ages (teens to menopause) for many different issues. Here are some of the situations she can help you with:
- Physicals, PAPs and breast exams are routinely provided by nurse-midwives.
- Contraception options such as prescriptions for pills or rings, IUD placements or diaphragm fittings.
- Preconception counseling, fertility awareness education and STD testing.
- Blood testing or saliva testing (through other laboratories), urine or vaginal secretion analysis, and other microscopic examinations (all in the office).
- Rapid Strep A (Strep throat testing) and pregnancy tests are available in the office.
- PMS or menopausal symptoms, or unusual vaginal bleeding.
- Fibroids, endometriosis, vaginal itching, or other issues with female organs
- Urinary tract infections, coughs, sinus congestion, ear pain, or sore throats.
- Osteoporosis, high blood pressure and thyroid issues.
- Biopsies of concerning moles or other skin lumps

- Suturing of small wounds
- Tetanus vaccinations and tuberculosis screening (with an skin injection)
Prescriptions, compounded hormone creams, herbal teas and tinctures, and natural supplements are options Blue will offer when appropriate.
What is not provided at Methow Midwifery & Women’s Health?
- Care for children from 6 months old to their teens
- Care for men
- X-rays or EKG's
- Urgent care that is not related to pregnancy
How is Methow Midwifery & Women’s Health different?
- Longer appointments (most visits are one hour long)
